What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. When you answer the Compass questionnaire, we store your responses — including the scale answers, how settled each view feels to you, and anything you write in the optional free-text fields.

Why we collect it

Your answers are used for one purpose: generating your personal daily digest. We match news topics to what you've told us you care about, and we use your stated views to write the framing that connects a story to your own thinking. We do not use your answers for advertising, and we do not sell your data to anyone.

Who else sees it

A few outside services help run Compass, and your data passes through them as part of that: Supabase (hosts our database), Anthropic (generates your personalized content), and Resend (delivers your daily email). None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing that service to us.

Your choices

You can update or fully redo your answers anytime from your account page. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all future digests immediately — you can resubscribe anytime from your account page as well. If you'd like your account and data deleted entirely, contact us and we'll take care of it.
